EPFO – Generation of UAN without Aadhaar for residents of Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation issued circular vide No. NDC/10(5)/2017/3Z-1 1               dated 29-08-2018 regarding Generation of UAN without using Aadhaar for residents of Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland and details as follows.

Aadhaar is required for the generation of UAN in respect of every employee who joins an establishment registered with EPFO. However, the penetration of Aadhaar is very low in Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland. Many requests were received from employers for allowing generation of UAN without using Aadhaar number to help employees of the North-east and especially those belonging to the above mentioned three states.

Hence, a provision has been made available in the Unified Portal in the Establishment login for generation of UAN without Aadhaar for employees resident in any of the three states mentioned above. It is being allowed initially for a period of 3 months from 24/08/2018 to 23/11/2018.

The Process flow is as follows:

Go to www.eptinditt.gov.in >> ECR/Return/Payment >> Establishment Sign In >> Member >> REGISTER-INDIVIDUAL.

Employer must ensure that the check box after the remark, “Member is from Assam, Meghalaya & Nagaland” is ticked.

Increase of Basic Pay to Himachal Pradesh Govt. Employees – Grant of Interim Relief of 4% of the Basic Pay to the regular employees of the State Government of Himachal Pradesh

Government of Himachal Pradesh, Finance {Pay Revision} Department issued Office Memorandum vide No. Fin(PR)-B(7)-1/2016 dated 20th August, 2018 regarding Grant of Interim Relief to the regular employees of the State Government of Himachal Pradesh and details as follows.

Directed to invite a reference to this Department’s Office Memorandums of even number dated: 2nd August, 2016, 4th August, 2017 & 9th February, 2018, on the subject cited above and to state that the Governor, Himachal Pradesh, is pleased to grant INTERIM RELIEF 4% of the Basic Pay (Pay in the Pay Band + Grade Pay) with effect from 1St July, 2018, to be paid, in cash, with the salary of the month of August, 2018, on 1St September, 2018, to the regular employees of the State Government of Himachal Pradesh excluding officers of All India Services. The total 21 % interim relief (5%, 4%, 8% interim reliefs granted earlier and this 4% additional interim relief) shall not be treated as pay for the purposes of calculation and payment of any other kind of allowances including Dearness Allowance. The total amount of 21% interim relief will be absorbed in the future revision of pay scales to be allowed by the State Government.

The arrears accrued on account of grant of this 4% interim relief from 01.07.2018 to 31.07.2018 in respect of all regular State Government employees will be paid in cash with the salary of the mor of August, 2018, during September, 2018.

These orders will be applicable only to the regular employees working under the State Government Departments. As far as, Public Sector undertakings/Boards/Corporations/Universities/Autonomous Bodies etc are concerned Public Sector undertakings/Boards/Corporations/Universities/Autonomous Bodies will take necessary action in the matter after taking in to consideration their resource position.
